OVER $2.5 MILLION RAISED TO DATE IN 2022 PRIMARY ELECTIONS

City of Los Angeles (City) and Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) candidates in the 2022 primary elections have reported raising campaign contributions in excess of $2.5 million and spending more than $300,000 for political purposes. The semi-annual reporting deadline was February 1, 2021, covering activity through December 31, 2020. Total contributions and expenditures reported to date are detailed in the table below.

The fundraising window for Citywide seats opened on March 8, 2020. The fundraising window for the odd-numbered City Council districts and the even-numbered LAUSD districts opened on September 8, 2020. The primary election is currently scheduled to be held on March 8, 2022. However, California Senate Bill 970 moved the state’s primary election date to June 7, 2022, and the City may conform its elections accordingly.

The next filing deadline for candidates in the 2022 primary City and LAUSD elections is August 2, 2021, covering activity from January 1 through June 30.
