OVER $17.3 MILLION PAID FOR CITY LOBBYING IN FOURTH QUARTER OF 2021

Entities registered to lobby City agencies reported receiving payments totaling over $17.3 million in the fourth quarter of 2021, according to a summary on today’s Ethics Commission agenda.

Reports filed by lobbying entities disclosed that clients paid a total of $17,300,857 to lobby the City during the fourth quarter. Of the 2,198 clients registered for the fourth quarter, the ten who made the largest aggregated payments for lobbying services are listed in the Top 10 Highest Paying Clients table to the right.

Payments from these clients totaled $2,123,328 and represented 12 percent of all payments by lobbying clients for the quarter.

The ten lobbying firms receiving the most client payments in the fourth quarter of 2021 are listed in the Top 10 Highest Paid Lobbying Firms table below. Together, these lobbying firms received a total of $7,223,922, representing 42 percent of all client payments received in the fourth quarter.

Of the 770 fourth-quarter lobbying entities, 25 also reported fundraising activity totaling $384,151 for City campaigns, officeholders, and committees.

In addition to the lobbying entities, three major filers reported activity totaling $370,913 in the fourth quarter of 2021.
