OVER $16.9 MILLION SPENT TO LOBBY CITY AGENCIES IN THE SECOND QUARTER OF 2017

Entities registered to lobby City agencies reported receiving payments totaling over $16.9 million in the second quarter of 2017, according to a report on the Ethics Commission’s agenda yesterday.

Reports filed by lobbying entities disclosed that clients paid a total of $16,935,200 to lobby the City during the second quarter. Of the 1,458 clients registered for the second quarter, the ten who made the largest aggregated payments for lobbying services are listed in the Top 10 Highest Paying Clients table.

Payments from these clients totaled $2,456,399 and represented 14.5 percent of all payments by lobbying clients for the quarter.

In addition to payments from clients, 13 of the 573 second quarter lobbying entities reported fundraising activity totaling $90,075 for City campaigns, officeholders, and committees.

The ten lobbying firms receiving the most client payments in the second quarter of 2017 are listed in the Top 10 Highest Paid Lobbying Firms table. Together, these lobbying firms received a total of $9,049,389, representing 53.4 percent of all client payments received in the second quarter of 2017.
