FUNDRAISING WINDOW OPENS FOR 2023 SPECIAL ELECTION (CITY COUNCIL DISTRICT 6)

The fundraising window opened November 2 in a special primary election for City Council District 6. The City Council voted to hold a special primary election on April 4, 2023, and a special general election, if necessary, on June 27, 2023.

Individuals who are interested in running for Council District 6 in the 2023 special election may not solicit or receive campaign contributions until they have filed required paperwork with the Ethics Commission. Candidates who wish to file may do so by contacting the Ethics Commission for guidance, emailing all required paperwork to ethics.cefs@lacity.org, and providing the originals by postal mail.

City candidates are subject to a variety of campaign finance laws, including campaign contribution limits. For the 2023 special election, the per-person limit is $900 per election.
