The Ethics Commission announced that the fundraising window for the special 2019 election to fill the vacancy in City Council District 12 opened today. The primary election will take place on June 4, 2019. If a general election is necessary, it will take place on August 13, 2019.
Individuals who are interested in becoming candidates in the 2019 special election may not solicit or receive campaign contributions until they have filed required paperwork with the Ethics Commission. In addition, City law imposes per-person campaign contribution limits. For the 2019 City election, the maximum amount that a single person may contribute to a candidate (or that a candidate may solicit or accept) is $800 per election.
