The five-member City Ethics Commission meets monthly in City Hall. All meetings are open to the public, unless specifically stated on the Commission's agenda.
As part of its duties, the Commission considers policy issues and makes legislative recommendations to ensure that the City's campaign finance, lobbying, and governmental ethics laws are strong and workable.
In addition, when warranted, the Commission acts as an adjudicatory body to determine whether violations of the law occurred and to levy administrative enforcement penalties.
Agendas and materials for the Commission's monthly meetings are generally available a week prior to the meeting date. For additional information about Commission meeting dates or agenda items, contact the City Ethics Commission at (213) 978-1960 or ethics.commission@lacity.org.
