Behested Payment Reports (CA803)

State law requires elected City officials to disclose payments that they ask other persons to make to third parties for legislative, governmental, or charitable purposes when those payments total $5,000 or more per calendar year per person. These payments are not considered to be campaign contributions or gifts; they are considered to be payments made at the behest of the elected official.

Behested payments that reach the $5,000 disclosure threshold must be reported on CA Form 803 within 30 days of the date the threshold is reached. A summary of behested payments reported by current elected City officials may be viewed below. A summary of behested payments reported by all current and former elected City officials may be viewed here. Copies of the full reports are available by contacting the Ethics Commission.
